I Love My Heavenly Father

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:
Heaven lies about us in our infancy!

~William Wordsworth

O My Father

O my Father, thou that dwellest
In the high and glorious place,
When shall I regain thy presence
And again behold thy face?

In thy holy habitation,
Did my spirit once reside?
In my first primeval childhood
Was I nurtured near thy side?

For a wise and glorious purpose
Thou hast placed me here on earth
And withheld the recollection
Of my former friends and birth;

Yet ofttimes a secret something
Whispered, “You’re a stranger here,”
And I felt that I had wandered
From a more exalted sphere.

I had learned to call thee Father,
Thru thy Spirit from on high,
But, until the key of knowledge
Was restored, I knew not why.

In the heav’ns are parents single?
No, the thought makes reason stare!
Truth is reason; truth eternal
Tells me I’ve a mother there.

When I leave this frail existence,
When I lay this mortal by,
Father, Mother, may I meet you
In your royal courts on high?

Then, at length, when I’ve completed
All you sent me forth to do,
With your mutual approbation
Let me come and dwell with you.

~Eliza R. Snow

I often desire to be with my Father in Heaven.
To kneel at His knee.
To embrace Him round His neck,
and be the kind of daughter to whom He can say
"Well done",
eye to eye.

I hope to be with my Father again some day,
if I can be the daughter
I strive to be.
If I can't, or won't, or fail to try...
I'd really miss Him.

I love my Heavenly Father.
I want to be with Him.
Forever.

He loves us all, and we should love our selves too

When a lawyer asked Jesus,
“Master, which is the great commandment in the law?”
he answered, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.”
 (Matt. 22:36–39.)
Notice that Jesus said you are to love your neighbor as yourself.
You are a child of God, along with your neighbor.

God wants you to love yourself
just as much as he wants you to
love others.

Clark Swain , Ph.D, 1979 New Era

I Stand All Amazed

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me,

Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.

I tremble to know that for me he was crucified,
That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,

That he should extend his great love unto such as I,
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.

I think of his hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt!

Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?

No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat,
Until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet.

Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me
Enough to die for me!

Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!

the light which is in all things

D&C 88: 6-7, 11-13

6 He that ascended up on high,
as also he descended below all things,
in that he comprehended all things,
that he might be in all and through all things,
the light of truth;

7 Which truth shineth.
This is the light of Christ.
As also he is in the sun, and the light of the sun,
and the power thereof
by which it was made.

• • •

11 And the light which shineth,
which giveth you light,
is through him who enlighteneth your eyes,
which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings;

12 Which light proceedeth forth from the presence of God
to fill the immensity of space—

13 The light which is in all things,
which giveth life to all things,
which is the law by which all things are governed,
even the power of God who sitteth upon his throne,
who is in the bosom of eternity,
who is in the midst of all things.

These words fill me with light.
