He Sent His Son

  1. He Sent His Son

    How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness?

    He sent his Son, a newborn babe, with peace and holiness.

    How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go?

    He sent his Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know.

    How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death?

    He sent his Son to die for us and rise with living breath.

    What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say?

    Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way.

    What does he ask?

    Live like his Son.

We Lived in Heaven

    1. Faith is knowing the sun will rise,
      lighting
      each new day.
      Faith is knowing the Lord will hear my
      prayers each time I pray.
      Faith is like a little seed:
      If planted, it will grow.
      Faith is a swelling within my heart.
      When I do right, I know.
    2. Faith is knowing I lived with God before
      my mortal birth.
      Faith is knowing I can return when my
      life
      ends on earth.
      Faith is trust in God above;
      In Christ, who showed the way.
      Faith is strengthened; I feel it grow
      Whenever I obey.

    Even before they were born, they, with many
    others, received their first  lessons in the
    world of spirits and were prepared to come
    forth in the due time of the Lord to labor in
    his vineyard for the salvation of the souls of
    men.

    I Lived in Heaven

    I lived in heaven a long time ago, it is true;
    Lived there and loved there with people I know. So did you.
    Then Heav'nly Father presented a beautiful plan,
    All about earth and eternal salvation for man.
  1. Father said he needed someone who had enough love
    To give his life so we all could return there above.
    There was another who sought for the honor divine.
    Jesus said, "Father, send me, and the glory be thine."
  2. Jesus was chosen, and as the Messiah he came,
    Conquering evil and death through his glorious name,
    Giving us hope of a wonderful life yet to be--
    Home in that heaven where Father is waiting for me.

Be Still

  • Doctrine and Covenants 101:16

    Therefore, let your hearts be comforted concerning Zion; for all flesh is in mine hands; be still and know that I am God.
    • Psalms 46:10

      Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

      • Numbers 9:8

        And Moses said unto them, Stand still, and I will hear what the Lord will command concerning you.
        • He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
          • Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.
            • Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel

“We must not falter nor weary in well-doing. We must lengthen our stride. Not only is our own eternal welfare at stake, but also the eternal welfare of many of our brothers and sisters…"

― Spencer W. Kimball

“It's funny how, in this journey of life, even though we may begin at different times and places, our paths cross with others so that we may share our love, compassion, observations, and hope. This is a design of God that I appreciate and cherish.”

― Steve MaraboliUnapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience

D&C 58:27 -28

27 Verily I say, men should be aanxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;
 28 For the power is in them, wherein they are aagents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their breward.
Put Your Shoulder to the Wheel

1. The world has need of willing men
  1. Who wear the worker's seal.
    Come, help the good work move along;
    Put your shoulder to the wheel.
  2. (Chorus)
    Put your shoulder to the wheel; push along,
    Do your duty with a heart full of song,
    We all have work; let no one shirk.
    Put your shoulder to the wheel.
  3. 2. The Church has need of helping hands,
    And hearts that know and feel.
    The work to do is here for you;
    Put your shoulder to the wheel.
  4. 3. Then don't stand idly looking on;
    The fight with sin is real.
    It will be long but must go on;
    Put your shoulder to the wheel.
  5. 4. Then work and watch and fight and pray
    With all your might and zeal.
    Push ev'ry worthy work along;
    Put your shoulder to the wheel.
